Thursdays February 6 – March 12 (6 weeks)
These classes incorporate yoga and other movement techniques to help you stay strong and comfortable in pregnancy and prepare both mind and body for birth. These sessions are never exactly the same as they are tailored to the group of women that signs up! When you register you will be invited to join a Private Facebook Group where I post video tips and am available for ongoing support each week.
Creating pelvic floor awareness for birth through breath, alignment and movement is a big component of these classes. The classes also focus on helping you align and move your body well for pregnancy, creating awareness that you carry with you as you move at home, work and in your life beyond the class! Starting early in pregnancy can give you time to create change in how you move before your baby gets bigger.
In addition to active movements that keep you strong and limber, these classes will also help you cultivate relaxation and connection with your baby while releasing fear and mindfully preparing for birth. You’ll also learn techniques to help encourage baby to position well in late pregnancy, and build confidence for childbirth!
In these classes you will:
- Meet a community of other pregnant women.
- Learn how to use the connection between your core, your breath, and your pelvic floor during pregnancy & labour.
- Discover how everyday movement affects your body’s mechanics in pregnancy and childbirth and ways to prevent or relieve back and pelvic pain.
- Stretch and strengthen hip and leg muscles to support your body’s changing load.
- Learn about soft tissue release techniques you can practice to optimize space in the womb for baby and prepare your body for birth.
- Practice relaxation and breathing exercises that release feelings of fear or stress and help deepen your connection with your baby and your changing body.
- Private Facebook Group with video tips and ongoing support each week
- Build confidence in your ability to birth!
These classes are appropriate in any stage of your pregnancy and previous yoga experience is not necessary! Each session is tailored for those who sign up.
