This fall I’m offering a series of movement classes where each class will focus on a different part of the body to create greater ease of movement for optimal health and wellness.  These classes are themed similarly to the series of whole body movement workshops I offer.  The classes won’t include the same level of educational content as the workshops and instead will be purely experiential with a little over an hour dedicated to movement that helps to align, strengthen and restore function.

 

SUPPLE PSOAS CLASS Oct. 19 (hip, pelvis, back)

A delicious class combining deeply restorative psoas release techniques with mindful and challenging movement that will help you differentiate movement between your legs and pelvis and movement between your shoulders and ribs.

This is a great class to uncover movement blindspots that might be playing a role in your hip, back, butt or pelvic pain, core weakness, problems with digestion, breathing, menstrual cramps and more.  Leave feeling completely released and with a greater ease of movement through your whole body.

UPPER BACK & SHOULDERS CLASS Nov. 2

If you feel “hunched” in the upper back from working at a desk, carrying children, or simply from poor posture, this is the class for you!  Experience opening of the upper (thoracic) spine and greater freedom of movement through the shoulders.

Leave the class feeling more upright, taller, and with a boost of confidence.

FUNCTIONAL FEET CLASS Nov. 23

The feet are the foundation for the rest of the body, yet we tend to neglect them in our “workouts”.  With 25% of the body’s muscles and bones existing below the ankle we would do well to pay more attention to the mobility (or lack of mobility) in our feet!

From a lifetime of rigid footwear and artificially flat terrain our feet have become rigid and extremely weak.  When we load the rest of the body on feet that are functioning so poorly it can lead to an array of issues in the knees, hips, back and more.

Give your feet the attention they deserve in this movement class completely devoted to developing strength, mobility and motor control in areas of your foot your brain has long forgotten about.  Leave the class feeling balanced, grounded, and with feet that feel newly alive!

LOW BACK & HIPS CLASS Nov. 30

Create greater ease of movement through the lower spine and hips.  If you suffer from back or hip pain, osteoarthritis, or just simply want to move your lower back and hips this is the class for you!  Increase strength and flexibility and experience how to mobilize the hip joints for greater freedom in the low back.

Leave with an increased bounce in  your step and a new awareness of the connection between your hips and low back.
